Old Business:
  • Lots of discussion about a meeting place. Whether to continue to meet at the current location or go back to Westminster Canturbury. Kathy, Lora, Trink made suggestions and will follow up next month. Maureen suggested using Survey Monkey to get ideas on where to hold the meeting.
  • Alison spoke to the Head of Catering at Westminster Canturbury. If the Guild wants to meet at WC, the guild needs 1) a resident sponsor (Chris Gerloff said she would be happy to be the sponsor starting in November) 2) a room available on the 1st Monday of the month with space for 25-50 people. The resident sponsor gets a form from Resident Services and fills in the form then works with the Catering Department for any catering services.
  • Cost for WC is $50-$75. In the current location, we pay $75 per month plus $325 liability per year. We have to set up the seats and there is no catering.
  • Other suggestions for a meeting place: Ray's Church or some members suggested a “bar”.
  • Maureen accepted the idea of using Survey Monkey and working with Kathy Brown. Members will be surveyed for free – up to 100 people can be anonymously surveyed for free.
  • Election Slate:
    • President – Allison Hunt
    • VP – Trink Dahl-Prince
    • Secretary – Katie Gerwin (backed up by Lora Marin)
    • Treasurer – Kathy Brown
  • Update regarding last month's discussion about the TKGV “stash” of papers. Wanda called National Guild and they said the list of the original charter members and a copy of the Bylaws is all we have to keep.

NEW Business.
  • Election of New Officers. Members voted for:
    • President – Allison Hunt
    • VP – Trink Dahl-Prince
    • Secretary – Katie Gerwin (backed up by Lora Marin)
    • Treasurer – Kathy Brown
  • The New Officers will be installed next Month in November.

Raffle: Lucky raffle winners picked from a variety of yarns from Local Yarns stores and the SVFF Yarn Crawl

Show and Tell: Members showed many knitted garments and works in progress.

November Program: Installation of New Officers and “What's in Lora's Knitting Closet?”

Next Meeting Date: Nov 1, 2010

Meeting Adjourned Time: 9:15 pm

Respectfully Submitted,
Peggie Meyer
